Self-titled: 7” single
Trashy, fuzzed-out, and distorted garage gnarl. The first song, “Homeless Corpse,” is a jumpy and noisy fucking tune. Drums are hammered, guitars are throttled, the singer proclaims that he “don’t like it!” and a haze of feedback hangs in the air. But it’s the song on the second side, “She Sells Eggs,” that keeps this on the record player a bit longer. The drums are punchy and chunky; the bass that comes in with its thick and turgid sound is what makes this one a winner. The riffs are close to pummeling, but never beating you over the head. Rusty Years LP is now available for pre-order

We bet some of you are wondering what ever happened to our new LP, Rusty Years. It has been available free digitally for some time now. Was the decision to put Rusty Years online for free something similar to "going straight to VHS"? That is not the case. It has been a little over a year since the album was recorded, and we are now pleased to announce that Rusty Years will be released on vinyl in the late spring/early summer of 2012, courtesy of Rainy Road Records. Includes screen-printed cover, black vinyl, and photocopied insert. Limited to 200 copies.

"Baby Tears hail from that ubiquitous world of lo fi, Goner Records-type of trashy punk that seems to dominate the music scene these days. Maybe I shouldn't be so dismissive, since these two tracks are pretty catchy and have musical merit, but I just cant (get?) over the fact that there are a thousand bands that sound exactly like this right now. 2012 Injury Report

The first Baby Tears injury of 2012 award goes to our bass player, Ethan Jones. Yesterday, Ethan nearly chopped off the tip of his left index finger with an X-acto knife. So much for wicked bass solos this week at practice. Let us all wish his finger a speedy recovery.

Live in Fayetteville, AR - Review

Last week, there was a great show at JRs Lightbulb Club. Don’t get me wrong, I love local music. But I especially like it when a local band plays with two out-of-town bands that you haven’t been privileged enough to catch yet. I don’t know much about Omaha, Nebraska. Long ago, I passed through the place many-o-time in an 18 wheeler. But if their music scene is even remotely indicative of the emissaries they sent on January 7th of this year….the place..well, must have a good music scene. Baby Tears are as lo-fi, analog, DIY as it gets. They play shitty instruments and make 4 track recorded LPs. Take into consideration their high-octane enthusiasm that accompanies the rock-noise they throw at the audience, like projectile vomit, and you have a good show. They have that road-hardened edge and a ferocious energy on stage. They epitomize the band that comes to your town and burns it the f*ck up. Hope they make it back soon.
